"The previous M&S store on Notting Hill Gate was much better imo. It wasn't such a struggle to negotiate the layout and find items, and there were cashiers instead of self-service tills. The new store started off well with its beautiful spread of eye catching quality goods, but self service payment with only one cashier available (if you're lucky!) was an immediate downside. Since it first opened the store has deteriorated. There's perhaps a staff morale problem, but whoever is recruiting staff and managing the store is not doing a good job imo. And I feel for the staff at the self-service checkout: they look tense and exhausted. The last time I was there I otherwise encountered unhelpful staff: I felt ignored and/or in the way; filling shelves or date checking produce took priority over customers being able to get to the shelves. Although there was no cashier available, there were staff available standing around, one at the back of the store on their phone. I just don't think the staff feel happy there. Better management needed? My last shop there wasn't a good experience. A pity as M&S offer such interesting and quality produce. But the way the store is managed with a few indifferent and/or rude staff let's it down, so too the unavailability of cashiers. There's no accounting for older customers nor the disabled. It's not sufficient or OK to have help at hand (the tense, exhausted staff). There needs to be at least one cashier at a till available all the time, not occasionally."

"I went today for snacks and prepped foods which they have a nice selection. They offer some options 3 for £8 and I got caprese salad, Italian Ham and cheese and olives. Was able to get lightly salted tortilla chips which often places have sold out. Great berry selection available and prices were reasonable. Only two self out tolls take cash and they had no manned tills. Good selection but not too many high end wines or champagne options."

"One of my favourite shops to shop, where you can find a wide selection of items, I should note that a new shop layout looks way better than old one, I am also really satisfied with a customer service, the older lady working there is always so helpful and customer oriented, that you feel sometimes having home like shopping experience, I love it. The food quality is great and there is a wide selection of a high quality food on the shelves, it’s also has some freshly baked breads a coffee machine, great selection of sandwiches and sweets."

"Nice little supermarket with a good selection of food. The place itself is very small and can get quite busy. The automatic till machines are not the easiest to operate and if you do a medium/large shop it is a nightmare. Not a great selection of wines but can find the basics."

"Perfect for busy workers for convinent food selections. Little bit pricey side good qualities. Wine selection is great... Especially Xmas period is the best. I won't buy any essential chemicals range of products. Only food and drink. If it is worth it? Each shopping for two people approx £30 goes as a meal. Enjoy"
