"Been a patient at this dentist for approximately 10 years. Used to go routinely but was always referred to hygienist even though I never felt I had any issues. I always felt this was just a money making scheme. They also made you pay the fee up front, not sure if that is standard practice or not? In the end I stopped attending every six months as I never felt there was a need. Had to call yesterday as my cap\crown they put in has come out and I have been refused an appointment. Was advised the new policy states that if you do not attend within a 2 year period you are removed from the client list and would have to go on an extensive waiting list. I explained I was never informed about this new policy and this was an emergency as and not a check up but was told by the receptionist she could not help as it was not her decision. My NHS GP does not demand I attend every six months for a check up and neither do they remove me from their books because I have not been to visit for a number of years. Why do NHS dentists think this is acceptable behaviour? Disgraceful customer service, would not recommend."
