"I first went to Danny de Villiers in December 2018 after I found out the reason for my narrow dental arch and palate, breathing issues and crowded teeth was an undiagnosed tongue tie. I am middle aged so knew it was going to be tricky to find someone who could address these issues in an adult. I was really glad that I found this practice (after a lot of research) as Danny’s understanding of myofunctional therapy - the function of the mouth and tongue regarding airway, breathing and teeth alignment was second to none. At my consultation I felt completely listened to, Danny just got it and better still had a lot of experience in this area and knew how to help. I had an upper and lower ALF appliance that expanded the arch’s, and at the right time Danny performed a laser frenectomy to release the tongue tie. I was going to have this done under general anaesthetic at the Royal Surrey County Hospital with a scalpel and stitches, and I feel very grateful that I escaped that! Instead, with Danny it was a short, painless, skilled procedure that I needn’t have worried about. Because it was done with a laser I didn’t need stitches, had no bleeding and it healed quickly and perfectly. I also used the Myobrace for adults in conjunction with the ALF appliance. The result of these procedures has been improved breathing from a tongue that is no longer tied down and at the back of my airway, improved speech and better teeth alignment. Not only has Danny got substantial knowledge and skills in this area, I have had a few dental issues that he has addressed over the past couple of years as well. Danny replaced a poorly fitting crown and just recently repaired a severely cracked tooth with pins, a crown and a bridge. The standard and result has been exceptional. I am very grateful to Danny and his team: Fabio, Yvonne and Fiona - who are always so professional and helpful. Would I go anywhere else? That’s an emphatic no! "I highly recommend this dental practice. Danny and Susie are a very professional, friendly and experienced team. I have had several appointments where Danny has completed a thorough check of my mouth and replaced a number of old fillings. I have also had in-chair tooth whitening - which was excellent. Most importantly though was the jaw analysis that Danny carried out which helped me realize that migraines and facial pain that I had been experiencing for months was caused by my irregular bite and TMJ. Danny made me a mouth guard which within days started making a difference to all of my symptoms and almost a year later I am very happy to say that I am migraine free.
