"This is strictly a locals pub, mainly for those who live in the Upminster Road North area of Rainham. I can appreciate the opinions of those who have wandered in here for the first time and have found the atmosphere a wee bit hostile. However, that goes with the turf in a community pub like the Saxon. Once you get to know these locals, they are fine and even chatty. The décor and appearance of the pub is somewhat bland and the drinks prices are on the expensive side. At the end of the day, it is what it is: A proper Locals' Local!!"
