"I just want to say how impressed I was with the service we received yesterday (18th December.) I was part of a large table, all the meals arrived virtually at the same time, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was lovely. I would definitely recommend the sycamore ☺️"

"For a dog friendly pub this was a shocking experience. Despite booking a table for 7 walkers, we were made to feel very unwelcome with our dogs, that were very well behaved. We also had 3 children with our dogs and they were made to feel equally as unwelcome. Despite the restaurant being empty a sign appeared on the pool table telling us that children should be supervised by an adult. This was after the children had played 3 or 4 games a d the reason given was that there were dinners expected despite the restaurant being empty. We paid the bill of over£200 but will not be coming back to eat here despite it being quite local. I would suggest going to either the little mill at Rowarth or the old hall at Chinley."

"I absolutely love this place. It's great to park nearby, have a walk up Lantern Pike and finish with a well-earned reward of their food and beer. The food is gorgeous, and I've tried quite a large proportion of the menu now. The real ale is well looked after. It has good options for children, I normally go in with my 10 year old daughter. The staff are really welcoming every time. There's great outdoor sitting areas with heaters, so you can still enjoy outside when it's cold. A real gem I found thanks to my younger brother!"

"Quiet country pub that looks like it belongs in a city. Quite trendy looking and spacious both inside and outside, where there is a balcony, garden and also covered front part. Possibly ideal for large bookings. I've not had the food , nor stayed overnight, so can't comment on that unfortunately. I came in for drinks and the staff were pleasant and I had a nice few pints of Jeffe before making my way onwards in the famous High Peak rain."

"Lovely pub to go in after a walk up Lantern Pike. The food is good, my eldest daughter loves a post walk dessert there. Great views from the side decking too."
