Lark Hill Nursery School

". We chose Lark Hill Nursery School for our son (after looking at lots of private nurseries and other preschools) because of its amazing outdoor space and free flow play environment. This felt right for our child as an introduction to being away from home but not yet a formal classroom environment. I was also impressed with the caring and experienced staff, with low staff turnover which is a rare find in many settings. We have since sent our other son to Lark Hill as well when it was time for him to go to nursery and I would 100% recommend it anyone. The children have so much fun, and are looked after so well, as little individuals. The staff really get to know each child and their needs and personalities. There is such thought and careful consideration that goes into each activity and play space, and we have found it to be an extremely caring and supportive first learning environment for our boys. Go and have a look around, you don't regret it!"

"Honestly can’t recommend them enough. My son absolutely loves it at Larkhill and you can see that he’s excited to be there everyday he runs in with a “woo hoo” he loves the garden and I can see why it’s always set up with some great games and given us some ideas For our own garden like the chalks. The staff are lovely and very supportive not just to my son but also to me. We sadly lost my mum last year and nursery checked in on us often and even offered to move Alexander’s hours around to accommodate arrangements if needed. For me this shows that they care not just for the children but the families too and understand that family dynamics have such a massive impact on children’s development. On top of that the support for my son individually is amazing. He has a speech delay and the staff have worked with me and my husband to help encourage his speech and the activities they do all help this and we are seeing so much progress now. They keep us informed of any concerns or developments. I love the tapestry app where we can upload highlights of development at home as well as seeing what goes on at nursery. I looked around and Larkhill are much more reasonably priced than others in the area and the reviews they have you can certainly see why they have been awarded an “excellent” establishment for early learning."

"Apart from my son coming home with a cut from a knife in his eyelid, yes eyelid a boy had stabbed him with a knife which they use to play with clay. Nursery was unaware of this so I pointed it out to Emily who insisted that she would look into it and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Came back to speak to Emily the next day regarding the accident and to see if anything was seen or heard just to make sure it doesn’t happen again. She looked at me and it was clear she hadn’t done anything about it, nothing recorded in the accident book. Nursery may have excellent reviews but this was 1 thing that couldn’t be over looked. Not professional at all. Nobody even bothered to call and ask what the issue was. They’re just interested in your money and not your child."

"I've been a governor at Lark Hill Nursery School for the past 3 years, so I get to see what goes on behind the scenes as well as what families experience. I am so impressed by the staff at the nursery and the wonderful supportive learning environment they have created. Despite being rated Ofsted Outstanding for over 10 years, they are always looking at how they can improve and stay up to date with best practice. The wellbeing of children is at the heart of everything they do."

"What a lovely nursery. Both my sons attend there and love it so much they don't want to leave! With what little funding govt nurseries have these days they certainly provide an amazing array of activities for the children. It's clean and they have just fitted a new play gym outside. The playground is small enough for the children to play, with ride-ons and a sand pit, a rope swing etc. My sons confidence has grown since being there. The teachers are very approachable and helpful, providing full observations and assessments. I would definitely recommend the nursery school!"
