"Bang average. Paint cost more than gold dust but on the upside they're selling cheap throws that are well suited to my dogs cage. Flower section is okay but unless you want your phone message box filling, never go to the kitchen part and give your real number."

"It wasn't a great experience, a couple of products I bought were priced at £3.50 but got charged a fiver at the checkout. I didn't argue as there were no checkout staff available, just someone at the help desk and a queue behind me. The prices are ridiculous for small items and I predict the Homebase brand is going to be another high street casualty if they continue doing business as they are."

"Absolutely excellent staff and customer service. I’ve got a big garden project on the go and it’s quite difficult as there’s only me to do all the heavy stuff. Any bit of help offered is very much appreciated. I think I’ve got the majority of what I need but in recent weeks I’ve had lovely help from all staff, plus lots of random smiles and Hellos, which is so nice. Special thanks to: Paul, who advised re: weed killer (I went with membrane and a flamethrower in the end); Lauren, who manoeuvred my wayward trolley last week and loaded my car; Nick who helped me get stuff to, and into, my car today but who has been helpful with advice previously too; Clare (Bear) who is a wonderful ambassador for Homebase, with a ready smile and genuine care for customers (even when challenged by unpleasant “customers”). You’re all fabulous and I’ll see you if I need that extra bag of bark…!!"
