"Not been here for years, the layout is quite sparse compared to having a central bar with the old vault on one side and the lounge on the other. We turned up on a Saturday afternoon and there were hardly any customers in apart from a few hardened regulars who I may say were very friendly. There was also a lovely dog roaming around that deserved a bit of fuss. Had a quick livener did some reminiscing about old times, the darts team and seeing a few footballers from times gone by in there. Hope the clientele gets increasingly bigger as time goes by. Good luck to the place, worth a visit for a non plastic Alty pub."

"Really nice recent refurb and is a good old fashioned pub. Doesn't need things up with offering food which may cost it in the long game. Nice looking outside garden which was inviting but I was only in for one drink with my dad. An institution of many years and I do like the fact that it stubbornly remains a proper boozer. A rare thing these days"
