About the Business

Welcome to Ammachi Idly & Dosa! Located on Station Road in the bustling city of Harrow, our institution is the ultimate destination for anyone craving authentic South Indian cuisine. Whether you are a foodie or just someone who loves to explore different flavors, our restaurant is sure to tantalize your taste buds and leave you wanting more!

At our establishment, we believe that simple, fresh ingredients are the key to a good meal. That's why we use only the highest quality produce and spices sourced from local markets to create our dishes. Our talented chefs combine traditional recipes with modern cooking techniques to produce mouth-watering idlies, dosas, vadas, and many more South Indian delicacies that will transport you straight to the streets of Chennai or Bangalore.

One of our most popular dishes is, of course, the idly - a fluffy, steamed rice cake that is a staple in South Indian cuisine. Perfectly paired with our delicious, tangy chutneys and sambar, the idly is sure to become a new favourite. Another hit is our crispy, golden-brown dosas - a thin, rice and lentil crepe that is stuffed with a variety of tasty fillings such as potatoes, onions, and even cheese!

Apart from our scrumptious food, our institution is also a point of interest for the local community. Our vibrant decor and friendly staff create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that is perfect for a family dinner or even a quick takeaway for lunch. Whether you are a regular patron or a first-time visitor, our staff ensures that all guests are treated with genuine hospitality and care.

So come, visit us at Ammachi Idly & Dosa and experience the true flavors of South India right here in Harrow. We promise you'll leave with a happy stomach and a big smile on your face!

"Tasty South Indian food, quick service and fair prices. Weekday unlimited breakfast is for £7.99 and weekend unlimited breakfast is for £8.99. Lots of options to choose from such as idli, medu vada, pongal, upma, kesari etc. Served with Sambar and three types of chutneys. A la carte menu available as well. Idli was particularly good because of its fluffy texture. They offer limited take out breakfast for under £5.00 as well."

"So we went there for the first time and the experience was bad and disappointing. First they gave us Medu Vada and each vada was re-cooked kind of so vada were so oily and we had to use tissues to remove excessive oils. Then the team saw it and the owner came and offered us extra vada with the dosa plate saying sorry for the early mistake. Dosa plates were okay, but the offered vada weren’t cooked properly (That’s what I have posted in the photos) Mango lassi was okay too. After we finished plates, the owner came and apologised. I don’t think an apology would make anything better, because what i believe is that the first impression is matters. If not neither customer would come again nor they’d recommend the place to someone."

"I loved the quiet experience while endulging into the amazing dosa and almost half the menu that I ordered. It's been a while since I've had a proper south Indian experience and this is by far one of the best ones. I will definately return and order even more dishes. And the service was fantastic and totally friendly."
