Smashville Burger Co (Oldham)

"Smashville on your plate, but the foods barely an 8... I visited this restaurant located in Shell monarch petrol stayion as had seen on tiktok and it looked great. I love a smash burger and I was working nearby so stopped for lunch. Everyone in the office was jealous but when they asked how it was I replied with hesitation...lets get to it! Presentation: 4/5 Presentation is great, the shop looks fantastic and the food is presented well in cardboard packaging which is much nicer than plastic or foam. Burger was presented and wrapped well as seen in photos. Chips were presented as chips And tenders as tenders Taste: 3/5 So heres where i had my reservations. One review I read mention the taste wasn't all that and I have to agree, there is room for improvement. Burger - I had a dirty burger (not on menu) a mix of beef and chicken tenders. The beef patty was smashed well and cooked right, but it did seem to lack an "oomph" it tasted pretty normal and was relying on the cheese and gherkin for flavour. The tenders in the burger were nashville and did have some taste, but it again wasnt stuck to the chicken and felt like a loose drizzle of whatever sauce they put on. Chips - were great to be honest, nice and crispy, perfect temperature. Perhaps lacking salt? I asked if they did paprika fries but unfortunately not. Goes well with smashed burgers in my opinion. Chicken tenders - the were perfectly crispy, with a soft flakey crust. Far better than KFC however...as the image shows they were dripping with oil? I would expect a thicker saucy sauce, (that of siracha) for nashville tenders that coats them after being tossed in and creates a mess when you eat them. These unfortunately were very oily with a thin weak sauce that i wanted to get off the tenders for my stomachs sake! Price: 4/5 My whole meal (dirty burger, chips, 3 tenders, a dip and a can of non average can of drink) came to £15.50. From the menu the prices I feel are very reasonable. tenders were £4.00 for 3 Upgrading to a full meal cost £2.50 (chips and drink) and the burgers were ranging from £5.50 upwards. Overall: 3.8/5 (7.6/10) I feel the restaurant is very good, nice marketing, design, packaging, food quality and gives something extra others don't with the U.S.A sweets shop within the service station. There are some taste improvements that could be done that hopefully next time I visit are addressed. I would go again but not rush to go back, I have got another smash place which ticks nore boxes."

"The food smells and tastes amazing. It's in a petrol station so don't expect a restaurant style atmosphere. But friendly staff. Had to wait over 20 min for food but worth the wait."

"The burgers were okay, they weren't great. If you want to try this place order an hour before you go to pick up because we didn't know and had to wait 45 minutes before getting our food. Also know delivery is they're main priority so if you go there just know alot of people will come and go before you can get anything or even order. I would say the chicken tenders were the best in their menu."

"I have been on a tour of burger places while working in greater Manchester. These are probably the best I've had and more importantly these are consistently very good. Tend to always go for beef burgers but also throughly enjoyed the chicken tender meals."
